my ideal house

Dear readers,
Dear web users,
Dear www.forum.co.uk users,

I’m going to talk about…
I’d like to speak about…

Today we have a lot of TV programmes which show fantastic houses and they have given me some ideas, which I’d like to share with you.
I’m not rich today, but if I was/were a millionaire I’d like a mansion with an indoor swimming-pool…
My ideal house would be spacious, modern and conveniently-located.
Inside, I would have…
C18th-style furniture
Modern style furniture
Spacious kitchen
Bright bedroom
Convenient for transport

I’d like to have a butler/ 3 cleaning assistants

Mansion/ palace/ castle
large gardens with plenty of trees and different plants, and with big cages where I can put falcons, parrots, peacocks, pheasants
with a lake with colourful fish and frogs and a rowing boat.
I’d love to have a fireplace where I can sit at and chill out, smoke a pipe
I’d like to have vineyard to produce my own wine
Cellar

Thanks a lot for reading. I hope this was useful.

MEETIC.COM  (150 WORDS)

I can think of myself as a very creative person, adventurous and optimistic. I like hanging out with friends, going trekking and discovering new places. Besides, I’m also very punctual and a reliable worker. And something else, I never ever leave things to the last minute.
Speaking about my negative side, I can say that I’m a bit stubborn and sometimes very intense. That’s why I’m looking for a girl who can turn me into a more open, friendly and relaxed person. And take things more easily!
I’m looking for a girl who is sensitive, sincere, loyal and reliable. My ideal girl would be someone who likes arts and culture, Nature and sports. It would be great if she had her own flat too (upps – that’s a joke). No, honestly, a girl who can understand me and I can feel some kind of chemistry with.
If you are there, don’t wait any longer. I can’t wait to meet you.

Dear web users/ forumweb.com users:

I live in Spain and the country is going through a severe crisis and the unemployment rate is very high. Anyway, I’m really lucky to have a steady/stable job. I’m a sales-person for the biscuits company ‘Siro’. I’ve worked there for over 10 years now!!!
As far as the good side of the job is concerned, I must say that it is very well-paid, rewarding and I have a flexible timetable, which is great for my family life. I don’t have to wear a uniform, which is fantastic and I have the chance to travel around to meet clients/customers.

In terms of the bad side, I would say that at many times I have to do overtime, which is a pain in most cases. So I don’t get to see my family on those ‘busy days’. Apart from that, everything is excellent.
Well, I have to say goodbye now. Thanks a lot for reading

Dear Peter, Hi, Peter,

The flat is very central and very convenient for the shops. Besides, it is very spacious and comfortable. So it was fantastic to have the opportunity to stay there.
Basically, I saw the sights of London, enjoyed the Tate Gallery, Central Park and hanged around Camdem Town. I also went out at night and visited some lovely R&B clubs, with live music.
Thanks once again and I hope to see you soon
Alfonso

Dear Sir/Madam:
Dear Ms Hugh:

Unfortunately, on 2/2/12 I did not received the book I ordered, but a different one instead – ‘The Mains Roads of Britain’, which is not what I wanted.
As a consequence, I am emailing to ask for a replacement/an exchange, so that I can have the book ‘Teo Desayuna’. However, I do not know what to do next and I would be very happy if I received more information about how do the replacement.

COMPARING LIFE IN A SMALL TOWN AND LIFE IN A BIG CITY

We all know that living in small town could be sometimes boring. But what about the peace and quiet? How about leading a stress-free life? In this text we will try to analyze the differences between living in a small town and living in bigger places.
One of the most important things to take into account is convenience. It is really comfortable to be able to park your car easily, walk everywhere…
You don’t have to take your car to move around because the distances are shorter. You don’t have to get up early in the morning . You don’t have to commute

Conversely=However, living in a bigger place has also some advantages.

As far as life in cities is concerned,
Speaking about life in a city, we can say…
In terms of security, smaller towns are better than cities because the crime rate is lower

Having said that,

In spite of the fact that … ----, +++++++

There are a lot of things on.

… is worse than…
Is better than…
Is much better than…

+++++++++. However, ---------------

On the one hand, we have … But on the other hand, we have

Having said that, we still prefer to live in a small town on weekday and drive to a nearby city at weekends. Do you feel the same?

PROPOSAL 200 WORDS

WRITE A PROPOSAL TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES TO SUGGEST CHANGES IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT/ BIODIVERSITY

200 words

We would like to suggest some changes which will hopefully improve the conditions of our region regarding environmental protection. The measures to be taken are listed as follows:

PROMOTE/IMPLEMENT THE USE OF ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY PRODUCTS

Many of us use sprays and washing products which damage the environment considerably. It would be a good idea, however, to promote the use of eco-friendly products by subsidizing them, making them cheaper.

PROMOTE THE USE OF BICYCLES

IMPROVE THE SAFETY OF BICYCLE-RIDERS

If we all use our bicycles more, we will contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions. However, it is dangerous to ride our bicycles if we have to share our lane with cars. Our suggestion would be to create a cycle track, so that we can ride with a decent degree of safety. This will, furthermore, help to promote the use of bicycles.

REVIEW UNIT 3 AND 4

FOOD AND MOODS - WWW-ELLLO.ORG-

I was browsing through a bookshop today and I picked up a book on food,
which is quite usual for me cause I love food, em, but this book was a bit
different, em, it tried to make the connection between the kind of food you
eat and how it makes you feel so, for example, sometimes if I'm, if I'm a
bit sad, we’ll say, I think to myself, oh, I’d love some chocolate and that
will make me feel better, and sometimes it does, or it feels like it does anyway.
I’m not sure if that really works, but the author of this book seemed to think
that there’s a definite link between, what you, you know, what you eat and
how you feel, or how it makes you feel. She talks about things like, em, yeah,
things like chocolate and other sweet things. She says that it releases endorphins,
so that, you know endorphins are chemicals, they kind of, they make you feel good,
I think is the idea. They help you deal with stress as well as she says, so yeah, that
seems to, that seems to work, I think. One of my friends told me recently that
when she feels a bit, a bit sluggish as if she doesn’t have much energy, she’ll
go to a restaurant or go home and cook some meat cause she feels that that
gives her, gives her energy, so I was interested to read today that this author,
she mentions how sometimes the body will feel a need to, I don’t know, to be
more sharp, or to have energy and that sometimes that means that you need protein
and protein obviously would comes from meat. It seems to work for my friend
anyway, but I haven’t tried it myself anyway.

HEALTHY EATING

Young people should:

Cut down on carbohydrates, fatty food, junk food, pizzas…

Do sport regularly

Have a balanced diet

Eat 5 pieces of fruit a day: pineapple, watermelon, melon, orange,…

Vegetables: tomato, carrot, lettuce, pumpkin, courgette

Stir-frying is better that deep-frying

Stir-fried veggies are better than deep-fried.

Chips

Fried haddock

hake

It will be a good idea if you walk to work instead of driving.

It would be fantastic if you took up some sport activities, such as tennis or basketball

a short stoty

I still remember that time when I had some hopes that Real Madrid was a possible winner of the Spanish league.

So there was this fantastic match on TV, Barça-Real Madrid, and I was excited about it. I usually like watching matches like these in pubs.

So, I arranged to meet my friends in a pub called ‘Trastero’, just a bit before the match. I remember I was wearing jeans with a stripy T-shirt (USE ADJECTIVES TO ‘DECORATE’ YOUR DESCRIPTIONS)

Afterwards,

BRAINSTORMING - TIPS FOR TRAVELLERS

Please be careful with pickpockets, especially in tourist places, like the main squares.

You should keep/bear in mind that some shops/museums close for the lunchtime (14.00-17.00). So it’d be a good idea if you didn’t plan any visit to places like…

Please make sure you check the timetables of museums beforehand

You shouldn’t really be shocked if we speak very loudly, or we touch each other very much. Mediterranean people are like this.

If most cities in Andalusia, there are gipsy women, who pretend being fortune tellers, offering you some rosemary to tell your future. Please, try to avoid them because if you start speaking to them, you will be lost.

You can sunbathe, even in winter

You can get a suntan

RECOMMEND + VP-ING

I strongly recommend tasting the delicious paella.

I recommend that you visit our beaches
